Ultimate Brotini #6 – The Peanut Butter and Jelly Martini
For eight days, we’re hitting you with the bravest, most dude-worthy cocktails we can dig up. Some of these you can make yourself, and at least one is only found at a posh bar at a Manhattan cheese shop, and only by request. You’re bound to be inspired to down some brave spirits, and you’ll certainly rethink the idea of a martini.
Look! Momma cut off the crust! This martini earns its place on the list because really, it’s the eleven year old boy’s standby lunch all grown up and full of alcoholic terror.
This one’s a little tough to make, but we’ll link to some of these ingredients. Originally created by Gianfranco of Tippling Bros, this one is creative in the least. Check out the Tippling Bros site… pretty badass.
It’s doubtful you’re going to come across a bar that has this on the menu, so you’re gonna have to get your cocktail tools out, plan ahead, and get brave. We think this one’s worth a try.
The P&J Martini
1.5 oz Flor de Caña 7 yr rum
.5 oz Lustau Palo Cortado Vides
.25 oz Strawberry jam
.25 oz Peanut syrup*
1 Egg white
1 Yellow banana
*You can either make your own peanut syrup (not impossible, but it’s enough to ruin your buzz) or get it here for around $8 bucks.
It’s kind of funny, that after looking at the ingredient list which contains rum, sherry, peanut syrup, a raw egg, strawberry jam, and a nanner, this is pretty much a suicide drink of a bunch of shit you’re not supposed to mix together. But the frankenstein concoction is like drinking the most bitchin’ and manly peanut butter and jelly sandwich your mind can handle.
