Japanese Jukebox: J-Weed Music
Japan likes to roll that sticky-icky, hit that bong, and get lifted too. And they occasionally sing about it? Whoa! The good news is you don’t have to be higher than a mutha to enjoy the music. Take a hit.
Satellite’s video for “Full Smoke” will put Saturday morning cartoons in a whole new hazy light. How trippy were these looney tunes anyway? Well, Satellite flips through the television dial past murderous and dark clips to totally remind you what it’s like to be f’ed up.
Take another hit of Satellite below:
The track “Crockers” is hard to see through all the smoke, but your boy jumps out in your face. You better listen to what the man is saying.. even if you don’t know what the man is saying. Look, that red stuff on the walls is actually blood, for Pete’s sake. If that doesn’t scare you then by all means, dive head first and inhale. Stick a joint up your nose and take a whiff of Satellite’s new album Full Smoke:Satellite slated for 9.29.2011.
Don’t know if ya heard, but 2Hi get high. Just in case you’re blitzed right now, KillaSuga and his buddies repeat themselves over and over again about getting high, so you get the message. “2Hi” has this 2-Live-Crew-ish Miami sound with the big boy chorus and dirty beats that might just make you grab a frosty mug and say “Kampai!” and get high too. Nice. So where would you find this single? Up on the cloud, soundcloud, of course.
It’s like the Beastie boys are up in this piece. North Smoke Ing bring the truly hip hip hop rhymes and scritchity scratchity turntables out in “Work Time.” They show that even through a haze of smoke, work needs to be done. And if you’d like to hear them a little more blunt-ed, please proceed to the next video:
North Smoke Ing also smoke up the stage in their single “Herbest.” The wheels of steel are on fire on this track, and the boys don’t choke on their rhymes. Yes yes y’all, get the singles “Herbest”and “Work Time” on their second album Herbest out 9.21.2011.
Hopefully this sample pack of hip hop tunes will hook you into checking out more dope J-music. So the next time you want to burn an ounce, hit up Japan.
