J-cock rockers Droog get a taste of the big time with their first major release under Japanese giant label Avex on August 3rd, 2011. Just in case their name reference didn’t knock you over the head, their video for the lead single “Love Song” has them clocked in front of an orange screen.

“Love song” pumps out a slightly more polished sound from Droog and shows what new money can buy. The production values are higher, the screams are more intelligible and the guitar sounds are crisper. That doesn’t necessarily mean Droog is any nicer. They will still fuck up a mic stand and shout in your ears through a megaphone to demand your attention. It will be interesting to see how loud this new album gets.

Droog has also released 2 previous albums back in 2010. Let’s check out their previous work.

Noisy and raucus, “からかわないで“ goes on at a blazing pace and doesn’t end until the final scream. It’s 70’s punk rock with escalating guitars and screeching vocals that will easily piss off the neighbors. It’s definitely shakier than their newer material and the sound is a lot more raw, rawer? Rawr.

Finally, off Droog’s first self-titled album, “Jinrui” takes that 70’s guitar and cranks it up to the ball-pressed wall. It’s garage, punk and one microphone swing away from bonking you in the forehead. You can tell that Droog’s motto has always been loud and fast.

So you want to join the Droog gang? You can ironically like the boys on Facebook.
