Japanese Jukebox: Disturbing Japan WTF Videos
Japan has no shortage of jacked up videos that will make you scratch your head. Will you WTF or LOL? There is only one way to find out. Let’s get WTF’ed FTW!
Wild. We only get a short portion of Misia’s upbeat dance song “This is me,” but it will get your booty shaking. Not only will it get you footloose, it will bring out a range of costumed freaks including lionheaded musclemen, bird creatures, dead warriors, and assorted painted faces. Supposedly these characters are part of a fantasy world Misia dreamed up and included in her 2-disc album Soul Quest released on 7.27.2011. This album should be wild ride worth taking.
Weird. Gulshabu will show you what a WTF face looks like in their video for “Sio Dashi Maki SxDm.” The video is just a series of weird faces morphed with internal organs, animal parts and sea creatures. The music on the other hand is rather cool. It’s a great mix of hip hop beats and horn samples and comes off as quite hypnotic.
Disturbingly cute? Get ready for KyaryPamyUpaMyu. Her single “PonPonPon” is “pon pon way way” too weird. It’s kind of like a Willy Wonka-esque trip through a spoiled brat’s bedroom filled with everything an 8-year-old girl would want. Watch as she claps her hands and make sliced bread appear, or demand to have faceless overweight dancers (kind of like oompa-loompas) parading around the house. Whaaa? Expect even more craziness when KyaryPamyUpaMyu’s new album Moshi Moshi Harajuku drops on 8.17.2011.
Just plain disturbing. If you think eating boogers are gross, then please don’t watch the above video by Gusya Ningen for the song “FFV.” It’s serious head-banging booger music. Probably one of the scariest videos of 2011, “FFV” proves that netherworld nosepicking is nasty. Be afraid.
Speechless or did you spit-take? Spare the words, and just retweet and share the WTF love.
