Only approximately 11% of practicing scientists today are females, and in this broad sector that attracts mostly gargoyles and androids, painfully few are nice-looking dames. That didn’t stop us from digging hard to find these hybrid ladies. Although we know them appropriately so for their contributions to scientific advancements that have made this world a better place, these women couldn’t help but smoke up the labs and classrooms they work in — and that’s not because they were blowing shit up. Well… some of them could. Guy.com salutes the hottest scientists in the world:

Day Thirteen: Summer Williams

Born: 1981-82
Kind of scientist:
Aerospace Engineer
Country:
United States

Where you could find her during her career: Working as one of only three women on a team of over 40 scientists and engineers in at Jacobs Engineering Group in Houston, Texas.

Career and Contributions: Summer Williams is both an NFL cheerleader and an aerospace engineer at NASA. She took every science and math class she could in high school, her studies and hard work earning herself a $10,000 scholarship from Cessna. After completing her degree at Wichita State, she landed a job at Jacobs Engineering Group, which is NASA’s biggest scientific support contractor.

The cheerleading didn’t come until much later, when a friend joked about her joining a squad. Someone dared her to join the 2005 NFL cheerleader tryouts for the Houston Texans. She took the challenge thinking it would be fun, and oops… She became one of 33 chosen for the squad, out of over 1,000 gals that showed up for the auditions. As far as we can find out, she’s been with the squad since. One more thing to note: in addition to pom-poms, she also holds a pilot’s license.

GUY is getting a rocket of his own ready.
