There’s a safe house and then there’s a SAFE HOUSE
At the Guy office we often come across things that make us blink very hard, and that’s not because of the overzealous air conditioning blasting our faces. Occasionally we find cause to marvel, and those are exactly the things we like to share with you. We hope that your world will expand at least one iota, knowing that these strange and wonderful things exist.

Just keep watching over and over and over...
How would you use wealth? Sock it away for future generations and live thriftily? Charity? Whores and blow?
One could assume there are places for all those choices but another option altogether would be to build a house that goes from eye-catching modern dream home to an impenetrable block of concrete in minutes. Weird? Wrong? Maybe, but Polish architecture house KWKPromes blew people’s minds in 2009 when they built this true fortress of solitude: A Safe House that actually lives up to its name.
Walls move, openings close, and the only way in is through a DRAWBRIDGE. If that isn’t a slice of wonderful, what is?
Most of the coverage regarding this incredible structure sells it way short, calling it the first “zombie proof” house. That’s the work of imbeciles. Zombies aren’t real and never will be. Having a fortress safeguarded against them is a geeky fever dream. But real-life terrors… Solicitors. Unwanted relatives. Jehova’s Witnesses. These are no match for the Safe House. And good luck to the man trying to get a pizza delivered through three feet of concrete.
How would you use wealth? Sock it away for future generations and live thriftily? Charity? Whores and blow?
The person who would go through all this trouble with their home probably is telegraphing to the four winds that they have something of value they’re trying to hide or that they share a bloodline with Howard Hughes. It’s a looney way to spend your money but knowing it exists and that a firm is out there to make it a reality is inspiring. This exists and the world is a better place because of it.

Thanks to All That is Interesting for the head’s up.

really really like this house. That’s not to say that I wouldn’t also love to live in a Victorian mansion, or in Castle Neuschwanstein (http://www.puzzlehouse.com/images/webpage/neuschwanstein32520.jpeg), but this house is pretty darn awesome IMHO. I’d probably want it tucked into a secure and out of the way location rather than out in a field like that attracting attention, but all the same I think I’d feel really safe living there. A house that can seal itself against external threats, much like the noble turtle withdraws into it’s shell, is a house with valuable skills. I’ve from time to time worried about home invasion, but I think if I lived in that house, once I sealed it up I’d have peace of mind
Just in case they really are coming to get you. Also, I didn’t think the house from 13 Ghosts really existed.
Amazing. Every contractor working in a hostile territory should invest in one of these. Note: Zombie is just another word for mindless consumer.
