Welcome to GUY.com!

Oh great… another online men’s site, your mind stews.

There is no shortage of sites that are geared toward the heart of the demographic that finds Bud Lite commercials the be-all and the end-all. A daily pin-up. A workout routine that’ll make your abs so tight the girl from accounting will drop her skirt and start dry humping you right in front of the boss. A bit on how Product X will make Person X want to screw you without even learning your views on Chloroform. How Product Y will make you smell primal so Person Y will forget that your mouth moves when you read a Garfield strip. Image is everything. Fight to the death. Eat big pieces of meat. A quick head nod is easier than getting to know that guy in the bar you see every day.

I get it. It’s the bill of goods being sold all over the place and it works. I totally get it. Men are from caves, women are… well… caves.

But it’s not reality.

Reality is faceted and odd. Reality forces us to be able to adapt and exist in a wide array of environments — with a wide array of people. It’s not all beer and football, and if somehow your life is that and little else, you’re missing out. And if you happen to house a vagina in your jeans it’s probably safe to say your life isn’t totally dictated by what Oprah says or by what Donna Karan’s been gracious enough to create for you. If it is, you’re missing out.

Image isn’t everything. Not when it matters. Image is overrated.

Being a diverse, curious, and unique person matters. And finding like-minded people and sharing your discoveries… that matters. That isn’t overrated. And it doesn’t matter whether your pee pee is on the outside or the inside. You’re not  just men and women. You’re Guys.

That’s how we feel at least. We want to give you a site that hits all the vital organs — we want to teach, poke fun, shine a light in new places, and yes… enjoy some good fun in the debauchery as well. We don’t want to pigeonhole you and we don’t want you to let us stagnate. As long as it’s not politics or religion it’s fair game. So let us know what you like and what you don’t. If you see something we ought to cover, let us know. If you have a group of Guys in your circle of friends, let them know we’re here.

This site isn’t CHUD.com part two even though there will be some crossover. This is a whole new animal. It’s definitely a breed that coexists with my other site but I think after we hit our stride (we aren’t there yet) we’ll go to a whole bunch of fun new places. Here’s a teaser of what to expect over the coming months:

  • An iPad/iPhone app that will blow your mind.
  • A video ‘show’ that will run twice a month and rock your face in.
  • A golf tournament in Atlanta loaded with goodies for participants.
  • And if that goes off well, in other cities too!
  • Insanely prolific coverage of snacks, booze, and electronics.
  • And giveaways of those products to you!
  • Lists on a wide variety of topics featuring the staff and celebrity guests.
  • Scott Pringle’s ‘Pringlish’ column, which will make you laugh resoundingly.
  • Honest looks behind the scenes of all sorts of professions.
  • Sports Talk great Chris Dimino’s unique perspective on sports and beyond.
  • and much, much more.

So welcome aboard! Please hang in our forums, and help spread the word on Facebook and Twitter when you can. We don’t own this site, and our success in this new vision for it will determine our fates. We’re just dedicated webfolk trying to entertain and educate.

We’re just Guys. All of us.
